There are several guides to GAAP, as well as the detailed GAAP issued by the FASB and AICPA. However they are just rules with a few accompanying examples -- nowhere is there instruction about how to install GAAP. This book fills the need by itemizing decision trees, policies and procedures, control points, forms, reports, footnotes, journal entries, and recordkeeping requirements for each of the functional areas listed in the following "Contents" section. |

I have found other GAAP books to be boring, while this one was interesting. -- Jason Sebel
I just picked up the GAAP Implementation Guide and it might just become my favorite. I’ve recently decided to start my own consulting practice – helping small businesses and start-ups set up their accounting systems, training their staff, and generally preparing them for their first audit, venture round, etc. I could never have done it without your guidance. I’m regarded as an expert in my city in this field because I’ve spent hours pouring over your books! Thanks for all you do. Here’s to many more years of your expertise! -- Luella Schmidt, President, Fine Point Consulting |
